The whole tour goes along the Great Silk Road passing through the impressive Tian Shan massif. You will visit the world's second largest alpine lake Issyk-Kul, as well as the picturesque Son Kul Lake, situated on a high plateau in the centre of Kyrgyzstan (3013m. above sea level). Here you will mange to see not only gorgeous nature but also to now many interesting traditions and customs of our people.
Tour summary:
Day 1: Bishkek - Issyk Kul Lake
After arrival in Kyrgyzstan you will be met by our tour -guide at Manas International Airport and accompanied to the Bishkek City (30 min. drive), where you have breakfast.. Today you will go to the pearl of our country Issik-Kul lake (200 km).It is second largest mountainous lake in the world (1608 m.above sea level). On our way you will visit the Burana Tower (minaret of the 10th century) and an open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors). After lunch, we continue our way to the lake. As soon as we are in Hotel you will have a rest on beach you will see that water is absolutely clean and you won't hesitate about swimming. Thanks to the salty water, Lake Issyk Kul possesses curative qualities. Dinner time is 7 p.m.
Day 2: Issyk-Kul Lake - Karakol
You will have breakfast at 8 a.m. After breakfast is free time till 12 p.m. Afterwards, you will start your way to Karakol city by car (200 km). On the way, we will make a short stop to give you chance to visit ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.), including the local museum. You will have a second stop during the trip at 12 o'clock, where you can enjoy lunch in a relaxed atmosphere, before continuing our way to Karakol city along the northern shore of the sparkling pearl of Central Asia. You have a one hour cruise on a steam boat. Then you will be driven to Karakol city. National dinner will be served at 8 o'clock. You will stay for a night in the reserved rooms of the guest house.
Day 3: Karakol - Tamga
Time of your breakfast is 8 o'clock. City tour around Karakol is planned for the morning. The tour includes the visit of the Dungan mosque built in Chinese style without using a single metal nail. This will be followed by the visit of an old wooden Orthodox Church. Later, you will visit the museum of M.V. Prejvalsky, one of the world's greatest explorers. His most significant achievements were the crossing of the great desert Taklamakan and the discovery of more than 4000 different animals, including the Horse of Prejevalsky. We will end the City Tour with a traditional lunch and leave Karakol at 1 p.m., starting our way to the impressive Jeti Oguz, the gorge of seven red rocks (30km). You will see the Broken Heart Mountain and the Sanatorium (where you can take a hydro shower or get a massage). Then off to explore the Jeti Oguz valley (Yuri Gagarin's holiday's house, yurts, alpine vegetation) or Chong Kyzyl Suu valley with its hot spring water and geophysics station built in 1948. After that is transfer to Tamga village. Tamga was a place where ancient Tibetan monks lived in the 13th century. You will be served dinner in the guest house and rooms will be also reserved there. Sauna optional.
Day 4: Tamga - Bokonbaiva - Kochkorka (120km)
Breakfast is served at 9 a.m. Then you have time to have a rest to swim in the lake (till 12 o'clock) or to explore the village of Tamga. Afterwards we start our trip to Kochkorka village by car. We will have stop in Bokonbaeva village, where lunch will be served in the house of a local eagle-hunter (unique type of hunting used in Kyrgyzstan). He hunts hares and foxes with the help of eagles (traditional way of nomads hunting). An eagle hunting show can be performed. Afterwards, we will continue our way to Kochkorka passing by the Orto-Tokoi water reservoir. We will visit Kyrgyz family which makes national carpets at the Kochkorka village. There you can participate in the process of making them and you can create your own variant of carpet. . You will have a traditional dinner with a local family, accompanied by a special national music performance. You will overnight in the guest house of Kochkorka village.
Day 5: Kochkorka - Son Kul Lake
In the morning we will start our way to picturesque Son -Kul Lake the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. Lunch will be taken on the way. Son Kul Lake is surrounded by mountains and it is located at a height of 3013 meters asl. Since ancient times Kyrgyz nomads had been visited this wonderful area with their families to rest and relax. Shepherds of Naryn region come to the lake to use it as a pastureland. After our arrival, you will be free to explore and enjoy the pristine nature of the lake and its surroundings. You will overnight in yurts (special dwelling) and there you will be also served dinner. Yurt is made of a wooden skeleton, covered with felt coverings. Yurts are built without nails.
Day 6: Son Kul (3013m. above sea level)
Breakfast time is 9 a.m. Today you have free time at Son-Kul Lake and you can to explore its nature on your own. Here you also can have horse back riding trip, or just calm atmosphere. Lunch will be served at 2 pm. Then you will see also ancient petrogliphs and ritual stones of shamans. It is a great chance to get acquainted with nomadic traditions and culture. You will have traditional dinner in traditional Kyrgyz dwelling yurt. You will also stay for a night in them.
Day 7: Son Kul - Bishkek
You will be served breakfast at 8 a.m. Then we start our way back to Bishkek. As soon as we are in Bishkek you will be shown our capital. You will visit central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Victory Square, the Historical Museum, National philharmonic, Oriental Bazaar, Fine Art Museum and many others places of interest. You will receive a separate program, listing all places visited including a brief description. Farewell dinner is at 7 p.m. You will stay for a night in the rooms of Hotel ****
Day 8: Bishkek - Europe
Your tour guide meets you at the hotel at arranged time and accompanies you to International Airport Manas according to the time of you flight.
